The Palast Orchestra is a top notch group of accomplished musicians and a vocalist performing excellent arrangements of music taken from the 20's and 30's on up to modern day tunes that you can dance to. I bought this CD as a Christmas present for my daughter who is swing dancer. My daughter had given me a different Palast Orchestra CD titled "Wochenend und Sonnenschein" which I loved and listened to countless times. I grew up listening to similar instrumental music as my dad was a high school band leader so I really appreciate the skill and pizazz of these musicians. While I can't give a thumbs up on this particular CD, if it is anywhere close to the CD I have you won't go wrong.
Well it you are interested in this type of music you won't be disapponted. At least I was not. Item was as described. Item bought from Amazon and came ahead of the expected shipping time to my home.
This is a great CD to play in a mix (of at least 6 or more CDs) at a party or as background music. nothing that you would play in your car after the 2nd or 3rd (or even 1st) time playing it.This however is how most great lounge music is. Something that allows your mind to drift. or with a dance beat (not club dancing) to dance to, or simply fill some background space (I love lounge, and I know some lounge enthusiasts will differ with this, but it's my take -- if this helps the reader).This album has the best version of "King of the Bongo" out there -- the reason I bought the album.Stuff like the version of Britney Spear's "Oops I did it again," is a little over the top, but that's me.
how can you listen to this & not smile.the anti-Rammstein music.(I like them both)
I picked this up, as well as super hits 2 so I could email clips of the songs to friends. I put this in the player in my car, and I am sure people thought I was losing it. I was cracking up so much. The guys accent is so hilarious and the orchestra music playing pop songs is great. Def good for someone with a sense of humor.
